In many of Victoria’s ecosystems, fire is a natural and important factor in maintaining biodiversity over time. Used effectively, controlled ecological burns are used to maintain, regenerate and increase plant species diversity, and to continue to provide habitat for native animals.

Naturelinks employ qualified and experienced staff to perform pile burning as well as drafting and developing ecological burn plans.  Our plans are developed to achieve maximum diversity of indigenous floral species and minimum weed species whilst assisting in the running of the ecological burn and wildfire response.

Our staff are available to assist you with any of these burns at your request.

Controlled burning is effective for bushland management in the following areas:

  •   Conservation of communities of native flora and fauna
  •   Managing potentially threatening processes
  •  Maintaining genetic diversity of flora and fauna

Naturelinks is dedicated to encouraging community education for the conservation of our valuable native flora and fauna, and support cooperative management with landholders, government bodies and other interested entities. Read about a case study here.
